Productos Certificados, S.A. is the trading arm of Alianza para un Mundo Justo a Non-Government Organisation instrumental in installing novel projects to help poor forest communities in Central America. These projects were financed by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the British Government, The European Commission and other donor agencies. During the execution of many projects, it was discovered that the only way to make projects viable and sustainable, was by forming a comercial company that could operate by trading the products produced by communities—this could not be carried out by an NGO, and Productos Certificados was formed to fill the gap. Productos Certificados is an ethical company designed as an independent and profit organisation to help the more disadvantaged people of Central America by giving them the opportunity to Access world markets and compete on equal terms.
